Diccionario multilingüe

Aquí publicamos el diccionario que estamos trabajando los viernes en clase. Añadiremos ficheros de audio con su pronunciación a medida que el tiempo nos lo vaya permitiendo.Este vocabulario es el que puede entrar en las preguntas del "Pasapalabra". ¡Ya sabéis que el ganador o la ganadora del concurso se llevará una entrada para un juego Láser en el Laser Space!

A

Apple: A fruit related to Newton's Theory of Gravity.
April: Fourth month of the year. It's between March and May
Art:  A subject. You need crayons for this subject.
August: Eighth month of the year. It's between July and September.
Autumn: A season between summer and winter.

B

Baker's: Shop where you can buy bread
Bat: The flying mammal
Bathroom: Room where you take a shower
Beach: A place by the sea. Valdelagrana is one of them.
Bedroom: Room where you sleep.
Black: A dark colour, opposite to white.
Blonde: Fair hair.
Blue: Colour of the sea and the sky.
Book: Object used for reading. Romeo and Juliet is one of them.
Bookshop: Shop where you can buy books.
Bus: A kind of public transportation
Brick:  A building material. Your house is made of this.
Brother: Your parents' other son.
Brown: The colour of wood.
Butcher's: Shop where you can buy meat.

C

Car: A private motor vehicle with four wheels. Lightening McQueen is one of them.
Cat: A pet related to lions and tigers.
Catch/ catching: To take something, for example a ball.
City: Big town.
Chicken: A farm animal. A kind of bird. The female is the hen.
Clean (my teeth):  To use the toothbrush and toothpaste on my teeth
Climb/ climbing: To ascend or to go on top of a tree, a mountain, the stairs...
Clock: A machine you put on the wall to tell you what time is it.
Clothes shop: Shop where you can buy T-shirts, shorts, trousers...
Cloudy: Full of clouds.
Cold: Opposite to hot.
Crayon: A coloured pencil.
Curly: A hairstyle. Opposite to Straight. Oscar and Victor's (4th grade) hairstyle.

Day: Period of time of twenty four hours.
Dark: Adjective. Similar to black. It's a hair colour, opposite to blonde.
December: Last month of the year. Between November and January.
Dog: A pet. Man's best friend.
Donkey: Farm animal similar to a horse.
Drums: Musical instrument

E
Ear: Part of your face. You can hear with it.
Eight: Number between seven and nine.
Eighteen:Number between seventeen and nineteen.
Eighty:Number between seventy nine and eighty one.
English: A language spoken in England and the U.S.A.
Eye: Part of your face. You can see with it.

F
Fair: A hair colour, opposite to dark and similar to blonde.
Fall: Autumn. It's between summer and winter.
February: Second month of the year, between January and February
Food: What you eat. Bananas, hamburgers and pizzas are kinds of ...
Four: Number between three and five
Fourteen: Number between thirteen and fifteen.
Forty: Number between thirty nine and forty one.
Friday: Day of the week, between Thursday and Saturday.
Fruit: Food from some plants. Examples: watermelon, bananas...

Garage: The room where you park the car
Geography: Subject about the countries, cities, rivers, oceans, mountains...
Ghost: A paranormal character, a Halloween character.
Green: A colour in Andalusia's flag
Grey: Colour made mixing black and white.
Guitar: Musical instrument very used in flamenco.

Hall: The first room you see when you go inside a house.
Have a shower:
History: Subject about Romans, Egypt, Medieval times, Contemporary Age...
Hot: Opposite to cold.
How...?: Cómo...?

J
January: First month of the year.
June: Sixth month of the year, between May and July.
July:  Seventh month of the year, between June and August.
Jump/ jumping: To move like a kangaroo

K

Kangaroo: Animal that lives in Australia and jumps.
Kitchen: The room where you cook.

L
Library: A public place with many books
Living room: The room of the sofa.

M
March: Third month of the year, between February and April.
Maths: Subject in which you multiply and divide.
May: Fifth month of the year, between April and June.
Monday: A day of the week, dedicated to the Moon.
Mountain: A place very high. Mount Everest is one of them.
Museum: A place where you can see famous pictures or dinosaur bones. For example, El Prado in Madrid.
Music: A subject in which you play the flute and the piano.
Musicians: Professionals who play music.

Notebook: Its similar to a book but it is used to take notes.
November: Eleventh month of the year, when Americans celebrate Thanksgiving.

O
October:  Tenth month of the year, when the Day of the Americas and Halloween take place.
Orange: A colour and a fruit.

P
Pen: Classroom object used to write. You cannot use rubber afterwards.
Pencil: Classroom object used to write. You can use rubber afterwards.
Pencil sharpener:  Classroom object used to sharpen the pencils
Pet: Animal who lives in a human house
Pet shop:  Shop where you can buy animals
Physical Education or P.E.: Subject in which you use balls, racquets...
Pijamas: Sleeping clothes.
Pink: A colour, mixture of red and white
Play: To make a musical instrument sound.
Pumpkin: A vegetable you use for Halloween decorations.
Purple: A colour, mixture of red and blue.

Recorder: A type of flute

Ruler: Classroom object used for measuring centimeters
Run/ running: To move on foot, very fast.

Saturday: Day of the week called after Saturn. It's between Friday and Sunday.
Sea: A lot of salty water. The Mediterranean is one of them.
Send (an e-mail): To transmit (an e-mail) to another place or person.
September: Ninth month of the year, when you go back to school and Autumn starts.
Short: Adjective. Opposite to long.
Shorts: Trouser that only cover part of your legs.
Shower:
Sleep: Close your eyes and be unconscious during the night.
Snowy/ snowing: With a lot of snow.
Spanish: Language spoken in Spain and Argentina.
Spider: Small animal with eight legs and eight eyes. For example, a tarantula
Sports shop: Shop where you can buy balls and racquets.
Spring: Period of the year from March 21st to June 21st. It's between winter and summer.
Straight: A hairstyle. Opposite to curly.
Sun: The star in our Solar System.
Sunday: Day of the week called after the sun. It's between Saturday and Monday.
Sunny: With a lot of sun.
Summer:  Period of the year from June 21st till September 21st. It's between spring and autumn.
Supermarket: Shop in wich you can buy many different types of things and foods.
Sweet shop: Shop in which you can buy candy, sweets...
Swim/ swimming: An action you do in the water.
Switch on: To press on the "ON" or "START" button.

T
Throw a ball/ throwing a ball: To project a ball through the air.
Thursday: Day of the week between Wednesday and Friday.
Town:  Small city.
T-shirt: T- shaped garment (clothes).
Tuesday: Day of the week after Monday and before Wednesday.
Trousers: Garment (clothes) you use on your legs.
Type: Write on a computer.

Use (the mouse): To put into service (the computer mouse).

Vampire: Dracula
Violin: Musical instrument

Walk/ walking: To move on foot, not very fast.
Wash (my face): To put water and gel in my face in order to clean it.
Watch: A machine you put near your hand to know what time is it (reloj de pulsera)
Water: A liquid you can drink. It's chemical formulae is H2O.
Wednesday: Day of the week between Tuesday and Thursday.
Week: Period of seven days in a row.
